My dancing life

Afro-Fusion Dance or African Fusion Dance

The last time that I went to France I realized how mixed my country is. It was so amazing to see black, white, Asian or Middle eastern people interacting together. Being French isn't being white anymore. French children have a double or multi-culture, they speak several languages but they are all united by the same principle from school, sport and art. I felt home, and that felt right.
So I have been working on a new style of dance called Afro-Fusion that would depaint  it.

Afro Fusion dance features drums music from all over the world and movements from Africa, the Middle East, the Caribbean, India, Brazil and Latin America.
Most of the World music can trace their roots back to Africa and African drums. They eventually evolve to find their own vocabulary and identity. Samba, Salsa, Belly Dance, Cuban Rumba, Indian Katak, Zouk, Lambada and even Hip Hop are of African descendants.

Show and dance class coming soon, I will keep you update

This casting changed my prospective

I did an amazing casting this week end wich I think will change my dancing life.
It was such a great experience. I met very passionate and talented dancers who have inspired me so much.
The judges really loved me but I need more training in Jazz and Hip Hop to make it further through. They asked me to train more and to come back. I was at first very disapointed and was almost about to quite dancing.... but then I thought that if I have been able to share so much with them, I should give myself a chance, train and come back stronger soon.

Concert with Afshin new York December, 24th 2009

I left sunny Los Angeles to arrived in snowing New York 6 hours later.
It has been a year since I haven't seen snow and the cold air surprisingly feels good on my skin.
After a meeting with my dancer from New York, direction the Hammerstein Ballroom in Manhattan for the sound check. Everything seems to run smooth, except I was suppose to do some background vocal, but without a Mic, it's going to be a bit difficult.
Despite the tenacious storm a lot of people showed up to acclaim Afshin of course, but also Shahram Solati and Shahryar.
The concert went great!! Afshin made me say some word in my kheili bad farsi andI got to once again show the Bandari Girl power!
Thank you for the great memories
